As far as I'm concerned, this info is _already_ in use operationally by
a wide variety of systems.

If you don't like the format, read what ARIN publishes, transform it
into LDAP or DNS possibly using the perl stuff that is there too, and
let's see how many takers you get. The proof is in the pudding.
