From info at arin.net Wed Jan 4 11:08:28 2012 From: info at arin.net (ARIN) Date: Wed, 04 Jan 2012 11:08:28 -0500 Subject: [ARIN-consult] Community Consultation Extended for WhoWas Service Message-ID: <4F04797C.50601@arin.net> ARIN will continue to collect community input via community consultation in conjunction with the WhoWas service trial until the production system is deployed. In addition to the information we have received from the trial, there remain a number of questions that ARIN has posed to the community to allow for us to get a better understanding of how WhoWas would be used as a production service. Community feedback is a vital component to the development of the WhoWas service, and will have a direct impact on decisions regarding the scope and use of this project. If you have an interest in this service and its future development please respond to the following question via email to arin-consult at arin.net: * Why do you want access to WhoWas information and how do you plan to use it? * How often do you think you would use the WhoWas service? * What information would you expect to receive in response to a WhoWas request? * Would a restful interface be useful for you to automate history requests? * Do you have any concerns about the Terms of Use for the WhoWas trial? Are there any items in it that are blockers for you as a potential user of this service? If you would prefer to share your thoughts anonymously, please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WhoWasService If you have any questions, please contact us at info at arin.net. The current process is documented at: https://www.arin.net/participate/acsp/index.html The proposed changes, available at: https://www.arin.net/participate/acsp/community_consult/revised_acsp_draft.pdf, involve only Part B. The Suggestion Process. The primary change calls for queuing of all suggestions determined by staff to have merit (that can not be implemented quickly) until each ARIN Public Policy and Members Meeting. Two weeks in advance of each meeting the community will be asked, via a mailing list and/or survey, to discuss the merits of each suggestion and to rank them in order of desired implementation. ARIN believes this is a more transparent and equitable way to broaden community involvement in suggestions. This approach will aid ARIN in scheduling for implementations to coincide with ongoing strategic objectives. The community's constructive thoughts on the revised ACSP are welcome during this thirty-day review period. Discussion on arin-consult at arin.net will close on 10 February 2012.
