ARIN is issuing an open call for General Members in good standing to
nominate candidates for two (2) seats on the Board of Trustees, five (5)
seats on the Advisory Council, and one (1) seat on the Number Resource
Organization Number Council (NRO NC) that become open when current terms
expire on 31 December 2010.

The Board of Trustees and Advisory Council election have a Nomination
Committee (NomCom) that is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and
certifying a properly selected slate of candidates to be placed in
nomination before the membership for election. This year's NomCom
members are: Board of Trustee members Paul Andersen and Scott Bradner,
Advisory Council members Heather Schiller and Bill Sandiford, and
general member volunteers Bill Manning, Justin Clutter, and Benson
Schliesser. Paul Andersen is serving as NomCom Chair.

New Board, Advisory Council, and NRO NC terms begin 1 January 2011. The
two opening Board seats are held by Paul Vixie and Lee Howard. The five
opening Advisory Council seats are currently held by Cathy Aronson,
Marla Azinger, Owen DeLong, Scott Leibrand, and Tom Zeller. ARIN Board
and Advisory Council incumbents may be re-elected for consecutive terms.
Jason Schiller's seat for the NRO NC also became open this year. Please
note that the NRO Number Council representatives now fulfill the role of
ICANN's ASO Address Council. Responsibilities of NRO NC representatives
are outlined in the ASO Memorandum of Understanding at
http://www.nro.net/documents/aso-mou.html

Please note:

1. Any individual, regardless of ARIN membership status, may
self-nominate or nominate one or more candidates for any open NRO Number
Council position. You must be a Trustee or an ARIN General Member in
good standing to make nominations for the Board and AC. Membership is
defined at https://www.arin.net/participate/membership/member.html

Nominees do not need to be ARIN members. Self-nominations from General
Members in good standing are permitted. A petition process will be
available to nonmembers seeking to nominate themselves for the Board of
Trustees.

2. All nominees are subject to the Nomination and Appointment Conflict
of Interest List, located at
https://www.arin.net/participate/elections/conflicts.html

3. Nominations must be received by 5:00 PM ET on Monday, 9 August 2010.
In accordance with ARIN's Bylaws, each Trustee or General Member in good
standing may make up to three (3) nominations for each open seat.

If you are interested in nominating yourself or any other individual to
become a member of the Board of Trustees or Advisory Council, visit ARIN
Election Headquarters to fill out the nomination form at
https://www.arin.net/app/election/

ARIN will contact all nominees via e-mail and/or telephone to verify
that they are willing and able to fulfill a three-year term. If ARIN
cannot reach the nominee, the nomination will be rejected. Visit
Election Headquarters to view the qualifications for Board of Trustees
and Advisory Council positions and for further information regarding the
election process and timeline.

Now is also a good time for member organizations to check to make sure
they have a Designated Member Representative (DMR) eligible to vote in
the upcoming election. If you have any questions, feel free to contact
us at info at arin.net.
