The ARIN XVII Public Policy Meeting took place last week in Montreal.
The ARIN Advisory Council met on April 11, 2006, and conducted its
consensus evaluation of the eight policy proposals which were on the
ARIN XVII agenda. The results of the AC meeting were reported by the
Chair of the AC at the Members Meeting. This report can be found at:

Three proposals are to be revised:
2006-1: Residential Customer Privacy
2006-2: Micro-allocations for Internal Infrastructure
2006-3: Capturing Originations in Templates
Two proposals were abandoned:
2006-4: IPv6 Direct PI Assignments for End Sites
2006-5: IPv4 Micro-allocations for anycast services (temporary)
Three proposals moved forward to last call:
2005-1: Provider-independent IPv6 Assignments for End Sites
2005-8: Proposal to amend ARIN IPv6 assignment and utilisation requirement
2005-9: 4-Byte AS Number
A message regarding each of these proposals was posted to the ARIN
Public Policy Mailing List (PPML) on April 14, 2006. The last calls will
expire at 12:00 Noon, Eastern Time, April 28, 2006. These messages are
available via the list archives at: http://lists.arin.net/pipermail/ppml/
The entire Internet community is invited and encouraged to participate
in these policy discussions. Your active participation in these
discussions is vital to the process and will help to form policies that
