[arin-announce] ARIN XVI Policy Proposals - AC Meeting Results

The ARIN XVI Public Policy Meeting took place last week in Los Angeles,
California. The ARIN Advisory Council met on October 27, 2005, and
conducted its consensus evaluation for the seven policy proposals which
were on the ARIN XVI agenda. The results of the AC meeting were reported
by the Chair of the AC at the Members Meeting. This report can be found at:

Two proposals are to be revised:
2005-1: Provider-independent IPv6 Assignments for End Sites
2005-8: Proposal to amend ARIN IPv6 assignment and utilisation requirement
One proposal was abandoned:
2005-6: IPv4 Micro-allocations for Anycast Services
One proposal was withdrawn by the author:
2005-2: Directory Services Overhaul
Three proposals moved forward to last call:
2005-4: AfriNIC Recognition Policy
2005-5: IPv6 HD ratio
2005-7: Rationalize Multi-Homing Definition and Requirement
A message regarding each of these proposals was posted to the ARIN
Public Policy Mailing List (PPML) on October 31, 2005. The last calls
will expire at 12:00 Noon, Eastern Time, November 15, 2005. Please view

The entire Internet community is invited and encouraged to participate
in these policy discussions. Your active participation in these
discussions is vital to the process and will help to form policies that
