 I don't know if I was one of the original posters but I think I mentioned the
 fee as one more thing that takes away from enthusiasm to go to ipv6.  No
 legacy user who is paying for a /24 connection has any right to complain about 
 the $100.00.  I assume most are far more concerned about having the /24 
 reclaimed or in some way restricted if they sign an RSA and become an
 "official" part of ARIN.  I think many believe that since ARIN has taken no
 action to bring them into the fold for 10 years, they are "common law"
 grandfathered into the internet and any actions they take to acknowledge ARIN
 oversight would jeopardize that.  I tend to be suspicious of anybody who says
 "We're from the government/ARIN/... and we're here to help you". :-)  Put
 another way, "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get
 me"  Policy Proposal 2007-15 to stop allowing changes to our resource records 
 to force us to join ARIN does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about
 ARIN's intentions. Paranoid? maybe but see above. :-)
