Nobody will ever be able to sway the authors of bad proposals before
they happen, but once the proposal is officially submitted to ARIN, it
is important to post some sort of reply voicing your support for a
proposal or your opposition. At the ARIN meeting, when the proposal is
presented, they also state how many people on the list spoke FOR the
proposal and how many AGAINST it. That is one of the pieces of
information that the Advisory Council considers before deciding what to
do with a proposal.

So, armchair quarterbacking is a good thing and it is part of the
policymaking process.
