In accordance with the ARIN Policy Development Process the ARIN Advisory
Council (AC) held a meeting on 13 April 2011 and made decisions about
several draft policies and proposals.

The AC moved the following draft policies to last call (they will be
posted separately to last call):

ARIN-2011-3: Better IPv6 Allocations for ISPs
ARIN-2011-4: Reserved Pool for Critical Infrastructure
ARIN-2011-5: Shared Transition Space for IPv4 Address Extension
   ARIN-2011-6: Returned IPv4 Addresses

The AC abandoned the following draft policy:

   ARIN-2011-2: Protecting Number Resources

The AC postponed making a decision about the following draft policy
until the AC's next meeting:

   ARIN-2011-1: Globally Coordinated Transfer Policy

The AC accepted the following proposal on to the AC's docket for
development and evaluation:

   ARIN-Prop-137: Global Policy for Post-Exhaustion IPv4 Allocation
Mechanisms by the IANA

The AC abandoned the following proposal:

   ARIN-prop-138 IPv6 Size Category Alignment

The AC stated, "The advisory council voted to abandon prop 138 IPv6 Size
Category Alignment because it was the majority opinion that this was a
pricing matter. We encourage the authors to start a discussion on
ARIN-discuss list and perhaps send a recommendation via the ARIN
Suggestion and Consultation process. Note that suggestion 2011.3 is
already in process and appears to meet most of the needs expressed in
this proposal." ACSP Suggestion 2011.3 is available at:

The AC abandoned ARIN-2011-2 and ARIN-prop-138. Anyone dissatisfied with
these decisions may initiate a petition. The petition to advance
ARIN-2011-2 would be the "Last Call Petition." The petition to advance
prop-138 would be the "Discussion Petition." The deadline to begin a
petition will be five business days after the AC's draft meeting minutes
are published. For more information on starting and participating in
petitions, see PDP Petitions at:
