From jeffw at he.net Thu Feb 17 05:42:47 2011 From: jeffw at he.net (Jeff Walter) Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2011 02:42:47 -0800 Subject: [arin-tech-discuss] API key not being recognized? Message-ID: <4D5CFBA7.70101@he.net> Hello all, I've begun work on a Perl module to simply interactions with ARIN's RESTful Provision System, but I've hit somewhat of a snag in that my API key is not being picked up. Here's how I'm calling the system: Method: GET URL: https://rest-beta.arin.net/rest/poc/ZH17-ARIN?apikey=API-####-####-####-#### Content: I'm getting back the following: Return Code: 400 Content: The API key specified was missing or invalid. I'm fairly certain that I'm calling the system correctly, so is it possible the system doesn't yet have my newly created (2011-02-16 at about 20:00 PST) API key? Or am I wrong in how I'm calling the system? Thanks in advance for any pointers. -- Jeff Walter Network Engineer Hurricane Electric jeffw at he.net -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... The API key you presented is likely an API key from production ARIN Online. The rest-beta.arin.net system is distinct from the production ARIN Online service. If you login to rest-beta.arin.net and click on WEB ACCOUNT, you'll see there are no API keys registered for your account. Register, therefore, a new API key and try your query again and it will work. Hope that helps :) Regards, David R Huberman ARIN Technical Specialist 703-227-0660 For more information on transitioning to IPv6 see: http://www.arin.net/v6/v6-info.html From markk at arin.net Mon Feb 28 13:35:17 2011 From: markk at arin.net (Mark Kosters) Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2011 18:35:17 +0000 Subject: [arin-tech-discuss] ARIN Provisioning API changes Message-ID: Hi ARIN has recently made updates to its RESTful Provisioning API. You can find the new RESTful methods and payloads documentation at: https://www.arin.net/resources/restful-interfaces.html In addition, attached to this message is a version with changes tracked, to help you in identifying what specifically changed from the previous release. Most of the changes were made to make the provisioning API mirror Whois-RWS more closely as well as clarifications on payload information. For those volunteers who are using our Beta testing environment, these changes will made no later than 5:00PM on Tuesday, March 1. Please note that the Beta testing environment will not be available on March 1 from 9 a.m. ? Noon EST while we update the site. Note that this is an ongoing project and that ARIN's schemas will change again before the production code is released in late March. We will announce any further changes to the API on the arin-tech-discuss mailing list .
