Author: Anonymous

Description: I would like to voice support for “ACSP Suggestion 2022.22 — Create Beta Test Environment for ASPA and BGPsec Router Keys”

Value to Community: ASPA will provide protection against route leaks. BGPsec is an existing RFC that will allow path validation. ARIN members would be able to experiment with these new security controls and get more familiar with them and their use before deploying them into production.

Timeframe: Not specified

Status: Closed

Response from ARIN: Thank you for your suggestion, numbered 2023.21 upon confirmed receipt, stating your support for open suggestion 2022.22. We acknowledge your position, noting that ARIN cannot begin development until the ASPA standard is an IETF ratified standard. At that point, we will be able to code ASPA functionality, and we will make it available in our Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) environment for customer use.

Because there is an open suggestion for this work, your suggestion has been closed as a duplicate. We thank you for your feedback and participation in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process.
