I've been curious about the ULA Central issue and finally had a chance to read the most recent (but expired) draft maintained on the tools.ietf.org site. Being curious about why it is an expired draft, I found this message in the archives for the WG and read through the follow ups to it. http://www1.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/ipv6/current/msg04751.html I have also sent mail to the editors in an attempt to find out why the draft is where it is. There isn't anything in the follow ups that seem to say that ULA is a dead idea - a few messages support going forward then a few messages question the need for ULA in light of an ARIN proposal in 2005. My opinion on this is that there is nothing for ARIN to do with respect to this, nothing tangible to discuss. I can't find anything on the IETF site that indicates if there is any future movement to be expected either. From my read of the expired draft, I don't see a reason that it would be progressed. That is, it seems to be leading down the same dead end as other scoped addresses (site local). -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Edward Lewis +1-571-434-5468 NeuStar Sarcasm doesn't scale.
