Background On 15 January 2015, the Consolidated RIR IANA Stewardship Proposal (CRISP) Team submitted the Internet Number Community Proposal to the request for proposals issued by the IANA Stewardship Coordination Group (ICG). One of the key elements of the Internet Number Community proposal is to replace the current NTIA IANA agreement with a new contract, a Service Level Agreement (SLA), between the IANA Numbering Services Operator and the five RIRs. A first draft of the SLA was published on 1 May 2015 and opened for public comments until 14 June 2015. The first draft of the SLA is available at: https://www.nro.net/sla-v1 A second draft of the SLA was published on 6 August 2015 and opened for public comments until 31 August 2015. The second draft of the SLA is available at: https://www.nro.net/sla-v2 A third draft of the SLA was published on 30 October 2015 and invited ICANN legal staff to provide comments by November 30th 2015. The third draft of the SLA is available at: https://www.nro.net/sla-v3 A fourth draft of the SLA was published on 25 February and invited ICANN to move forward to signing the SLA. The fourth draft of the SLA is available at: https://www.nro.net/sla-v4 A fifth Draft of the SLA was published on 17 March 2016 as a result of ICANN comments on the fourth draft and additional feedback received at meetings during ICANN 55 in Marrakech, this fifth draft of the SLA was open for public comments until 15 April 2016. https://www.nro.net/sla-v5 After following discussions with ICANN staff we updated the fifth version to clarify ?Condition Precedent? definition and update administrative items (i.e. AfriNIC address, signatories, etc.) With this v5.1 version we have concluded the public comments. https://www.nro.net/sla-v5-1 You can also have access to the final signature SLA document https://www.nro.net/sla For the sake of clarity, you can find a track changes version of SLAv5.1 against the SLAv5 draft at: https://www.nro.net/sla-track-changes Additionally, a document with the comments on SLAv5 and the legal team responses is available at: https://www.nro.net/slav5-comments In accordance with the transparency commitment to our the community, we share the exchange of a clear track of comments between ICANN and RIR staff working towards a final SLA document. Next Steps The RIRs thank the community and ICANN staff for its thoughtful comments and now publish this SLAv5.1 and Signature version in the interest of transparency and keeping the community apprised of progress being made on the SLA. We trust that all comments and concerns have been addressed and that the current version represents a mutually acceptable SLA that is consistent with the principles found within the Internet Number Community proposal. The RIRs expect to have this SLA signed at the same time frame as the rest of the accountability measures approved by ICANN. From info at arin.net Mon Apr 25 13:17:13 2016 From: info at arin.net (ARIN) Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2016 13:17:13 -0400 Subject: [arin-announce] Consultation Closed: Retirement of IPv4 Countdown Plan Message-ID: <571E5119.1040603@arin.net> On 22 April 2016, ARIN concluded its community consultation regarding retirement of the IPv4 Countdown Plan. https://www.arin.net/participate/acsp/community_consult/03-21-2016_countdown.html ARIN thanks those that provided feedback during the consultation. Based on community feedback, ARIN staff will retire the IPv4 Countdown Plan effective 1 June 2016. As outlined in the consultation, retiring the IPv4 Countdown Plan involves the cessation of Phase 4 processing procedures in our future review of IPv4 assignment/allocation requests. These requests are destined for the waiting list for unmet IPv4 requests, and going forward they will be handled via normal processes and no longer be serialized via team review of IPv4 request tickets. Removing these procedures would allow the recovered staff time to be redirected to other registration related work activities inside the ARIN Registration Services Department, such as handling the increasing number of IPv4 transfers. Please contact info at arin.net should you have any questions.
