If you have not yet participated, there is still time! The survey has been extended to Friday, 13 July. If you haven?t yet, we would appreciate if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GlobalIPv6survey2012 The purpose of the survey is to better understand what can be done to increase IPv6 adoption worldwide. The findings from the 2012 survey will be compared to previous years to give a perspective on progress in various regions and globally. For those interested, the results of last year's survey are available at: http://www.nro.net/wp-content/uploads/ipv6_deployment_survey.pdf. The results will be presented and discussed widely. Please provide your name and contact information on the survey form if you wish to receive the draft survey analysis when available. Please also indicate whether you are willing to share additional data with the TNO and GNKS Consult IPv6 Deployment Monitoring team. We appreciate your time and interest in completing this survey. On 26 April 2012, ARIN concluded its consultation with the community with regards to the updated ToU, which aligns standard service language across all ARIN service agreements and clarifies permissible and impermissible uses of the Bulk Whois data. The new ToU can be found, along with the Bulk Whois Request form, at: https://www.arin.net/resources/agreements/bulkwhois.pdf Existing Bulk Whois users will be sent the new ToU this week. The new ToU must be signed and returned to ARIN within 30 business days in order to retain access to the service. Users who do not return a signed ToU will have their Bulk Whois access disabled. All new Bulk Whois applicants will be required to sign and comply with the new ToU before they are granted access to the service through ARIN Online. Response rates in the ARIN region are currently lower than 2011, but there is still time to meet our participation goals! The survey will be closing 13 July, so if you haven?t yet, we would appreciate if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GlobalIPv6survey2012 Your feedback is crucial to expanding the understanding of where the Internet community is moving, and what can be done to ensure readiness for the widespread adoption of IPv6. The survey is composed of 23 questions and can be completed in about 15 minutes. For those without IPv6 allocations or assignments, or who have not yet deployed IPv6, the questions will be fewer in number. On behalf of ARIN and GNKS Consulting, we thank you for your time and interest in completing this survey. If you have any questions concerning the survey, please send an email to info at gnksconsult.com. We just wanted to take a moment to remind you of what will be changing in ARIN's IPv4 request process once we reach this milestone. Phase 2 is business as usual for all IPv4 requests smaller than /16, but if your organization is requesting a /16 or larger, there will be some differences in the way request processing is handled. All /16 and larger IPv4 requests will be placed in the IPv4 Review Team queue, and will be reviewed in the order they were received according to their timestamp. Because each correspondence will be processed in sequence, it is possible that response times may exceed the usual two-day turnaround. There are also several important distinctions for the post-approval portion of the IPv4 request process. Once a request is approved, the requestor will have 60 days to complete payment and return a signed RSA (if applicable). If payment and signed RSA have not been received by the 61st day, the ticket will automatically close, the address space will be released back into the available IPv4 pool, and a new request will need to be submitted. This change to the approval window from 90 days to 60 days will apply to all IPv4 requests, but not to IPv6 and ASN requests. One last change relates to the amount of time that ARIN will hold recovered IPv4 resources prior to reissuance. The hold time for all returned, reclaimed and revoked IPv4 resources will be reduced from six to three months. Phase 2 will provide ARIN staff operational experience using the team review approach to ensure that these processes and procedures are effective for managing the distribution of the last of its IPv4 address pool. We encourage you to visit the IPv4 Countdown Phase Two page at: URL https://www.arin.net/resources/request/countdown_phase2.html Please contact hostmaster at arin.net or our Help Desk +1.703.227.0660 if you have questions about this impending procedural change.
