ARIN is currently seeking General Members in Good Standing to volunteer to serve on the Selection Committee that is charged with reviewing all eligible applications and selecting the recipients of these fellowships. To qualify for the Selection Committee, volunteers must have attended at least one ARIN Public Policy and Members Meeting in the past three years and be able to contribute approximately three hours of work selecting Fellows in early March and mid-September 2012. Members of the committee will be subscribed to an email list where information will be exchanged and discussed, and must also attend any conference calls held during the selection process. In addition to the General Members in Good Standing, the Selection Committee is composed of one representative from the Board of Trustees and one representative from the Advisory Council. Become more involved with ARIN and volunteer for the Selection Committee by sending an email with your name, contact info, and last meeting attended to info at arin.net by 16 December 2011 with the subject line "SC Volunteer." The ARIN Board of Trustees will appoint two representatives to the Selection Committee from the volunteer pool of General Members. If you are considering nominating someone, do not wait until the end of the nomination phase. Nominees will need time to complete the necessary documents, and furthermore, the ASO AC Qualification Review Committee will need time to review those documents and select candidates. This must all be done by the close of the nomination phase. Regards, ASO Secretariat secretariat at aso.icann.org On 1 November 2011 the ASO Secretariat wrote: Consistent with the ASO Memorandum of Understanding and ICANN Bylaws, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) calls for nominations for Seat Number 9 on the ICANN Board. The nomination period will close at 23:59 UTC on 16 January 2012. All candidates must sign a Letter of Certification detailing previous conduct and character. We will send this letter to each applicant along with instructions on what to do next. We are unable to consider candidates who fail to follow these instructions. Additionally, the elected candidate will be subject to an independent due diligence review conducted by an ICANN provided contractor (election procedures section 7.4.9). This review is similar to those performed with all ICANN Board selected candidates. Announcement of the winner will follow the successful review report. The ASO AC election procedures are found in Section 7 of the ASO Operating Procedures and are available on the ASO website at: http://aso.icann.org/documents/operating-procedures-aso-ac/ Article VI of the ICANN Bylaws states that: ?At any given time, no two Directors selected by a Supporting Organization shall be citizens from the same country or of countries located in the same Geographic Region.? The ASO AC selection for Seat 10 of the ICANN Board of Directors resides in the APNIC region, so nominees for Seat 9 cannot reside in the APNIC region. If the ASO AC decides to conduct face-to-face interviews, candidates may need to travel (once) during March or April 2012. Reasonable candidate interview expenses related to hotel and airfares will be covered. We expect all candidates to complete one or more questionnaires. Failure to do this by the advised deadlines may rule them out of the selection process. Submit nominations by email to nominations2012 at aso.icann.org including the following information: * Full name of the person being nominated * Contact email address for the person being nominated * Contact telephone number (if available) of the person being nominated * Full name of the person making the nomination * Contact email address for the person making the nomination * Contact telephone number of the person making the nomination The full time frame for the selection process is as follows: * Nomination Phase 1 November 2011 to 16 January 2012 * Comment Phase 17 January 2012 ? 19 April 2012 * Interview Phase 20 February 2012 ? 19 April 2012 - The deadline for return of written questionnaires is 20 February 2012. - Telephonic and face-to-face interviews with selected candidates may take place. * Selection Phase 23 April 2012 -14 May 2012 * Due Diligence Review 15 May 2012 ? 15 June 2012 * Winner Announced 18 June 2012 (or earlier based on completion date of due diligence review) All phases will conclude at 23:59 UTC on the date specified. IP Address(es) where RESTful requests will originate from ? IPv4 and/or IPv6 addresses or CIDR range. 2. Brief attestation that code is developed or will soon be developed using ARIN?s RESTful API. Once we have vetted your request, we will send additional instructions for using the OT&E environment. Access will be granted for a period of six (6) months. Access for currently authorized users will continue for six (6) months from the date of this announcement. Documentation on ARIN?s RESTful methods and payloads can be found at: https://www.arin.net/resources/restful-interfaces.html ARIN?s OT&E environment is limited to RESTful calls and the ARIN Online web interface. This trial period will run until the production system is deployed, and will serve to provide much needed data to assist ARIN in defining the scope and use for this service. In addition to the information we are cultivating from the trial, there are a number of questions that ARIN would like to pose to the community to allow for us to get a better understanding of how WhoWas would be used as a production service. If you have an interest in this service and its future development please respond to the following question via email to arin-consult.net: * Why do you want access to WhoWas information and how do you plan to use it? * How often do you think you would use the WhoWas service? * What information would you expect to receive in response to a WhoWas request? * Would a RESTful interface be useful for you to automate history requests? * Do you have any concerns about the Terms of Use for the WhoWas trial? Are there any items in it that are blockers for you as a potential user of this service? If you would prefer to share your thoughts anonymously, please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WhoWasService Community feedback is a vital component to the development of the WhoWas service, and will have a direct impact on decisions regarding the scope and use of this project.
